Under the sky

Have you ever been camping?

I read the prompt and no, I haven’t ever been camping. I would like to I think. It sounds promising, you are with nature. Soaking in the peace and quite, have a bonfire and enjoy how primitive live without their kind of struggle.

But I never got the chance. And as appealing as all the above mentioned activities sound, my proactive mind remind me how easy it is to get killed when you are far away from the city.

I am not always a pessimist but my paranoia acts up when you add in a forest, most probably no cellular network and no help in nearer distance. Why would someone willingly put themselves in such dangerous environment? It makes no sense and yeah, I can go camping in a large group somewhere safe. But when I was a kid, money was the issue and now is finding the group.

One would think all these are just excuses that keep popping up because you are not ready. One can think that. But it is what it is and I believe it will happen if it’s meant to be and I would like to see the clear sky as the warmth from the bonfire redden my cheeks and it’s a little bit cold and I am all snuggle up in a blanket and having hot chocolate.
